1) Look the images and discuss the questions with a classmate.

1. Are any of these devices available at your school? If so, how often do you use them? We have computers in our school, but we never use them.

2. What educational benefits you think they can offer? We can learn in a more practical and fun way.

3. In your opinion, which device(s) can impact the most on the learning process? Why? Computers, because it's more easy and practical.

4. Do you think the lack of technology in schools can affect student's development? If so, how? I believe so because everything is technology-driven these days, and the lack of technology can cause a bit of "lag" in development.

2) Research the availability and usage of education technology in the city, state and country where you live. Use these questions as a guide and take notes on your findings.

1. What is the percentage of schools that have a computer lab or computers in the classroom? About 81% of Brazilian schools have computers.

2. What is the percentage of schools that have internet access? 28.3% of Brazilian schools have Internet access.

3. Are there public incentives for educational technology? If so, what percentage of schools receive them? Yes, there are some incentives. About 20% of schools.

4. Are there public programs to implement educational technology and train school staff? If so, what percentage of schools participate in them? Yes, there are some projects. However, less than 50% of Brazilian schools participate.

3) Compare your findings from activity 2 with a classmate and discuss these questions.

1. What are the positive and negative aspects of using the technology you live in? The positive aspects are quick access to information, communication with distant people and leisure. The negative aspects are related to the excessive use of the Internet.

2. Is there anything that can be improved? If so, what and how? Yes, internet access could be improved by becoming more affordable.
