We are writing to agree with the article “A Word on Artistic Political Correctness”. We think the limitless art is under attack nowadays because, most people appropriate the others culture, for example, in movies, series and music videos (MVs).
Recently, we watched a MV where one people, who is white, wear a Box Braids, symbol of African liberation in slavery. Also, Americans adapt mangas, with Japanese traditional histories, without Japanese actors and actresses. So We think it has to change.
To change this, people should know that just art doesn’t have limits not mean they can appropriate cultures. If MVs, novels or movies hurt someone, it isn’t art. Remember culture appropriation is very different than culture appreciation.
